It is well known within the D&B community that there is nothing that DJ Ollie cannot turn his hand to. From gracing the decks around the globe to working in Biting Back Records in the heyday of vinyl all the way to working as an integral part of the Innovation events powerhouse.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Ollie did not stop there, setting up his own imprint Direct Recordings in 2001 and producing his own mammoth tracks while touring around the world and simultaneously holding down his radio show on Rough Tempo Ollie is a true D&B bass solider in its purest form.
Now, following on from his recent release on Dynamic Audio which really took the world by storm and saw a host of DJ’s from every corner of the Drum & Bass stratosphere spinning Ollie’s music, Ollie now returns to his own label, Direct Recordings with “Listen”
As the title suggests ‘Listen’ does just that, for the avid breaks junkie you will detect a nod to the old school with production quality that is right up to date. Beat fiends will be glad to know that Listen has now been fully released after teasing the masses for the last few months. The original jungle breaks sit nicely on rolling vocal samples which build to a satisfying drop that will make even the most screw faced wall dweller call for the rewind. This is definitely DJ Ollie at his best.
